De Keyrel Racing’s First trip to Barber Motorsports park.
The Trip started off with a 17 hour drive to Barber Motorsports Park. My dad and my grandpa Lonnie were the drivers on this trip, so my brother and I could get plenty of rest for the best track day I have ever been too. When we got there Friday morning, we went into the Barber Vintage Museum for the very first time and it was amazing! There were tons of motorcycles, it was a great experience.
When we finished at the Museum, we had to wait for the car guys to finish up, so we could get our wrist bands to get in the gate. We got everything set up and ready to go for Saturday, then went back to the hotel to get some much needed rest.
Saturday Morning started off with some hotel breakfast, then we went straight to Barber for the first day of riding. I started off in the morning just getting a feel for the bike and working on body position and apexs. I hadn’t ridden since September, but I was not going to let that hold me back. I got up to speed and was running very close lap times to Joey Pascarella.
I felt great for the first time on the bike since last fall. Elena Myers was also there, but only got a couple of laps before she had a crash and broke her pinkie. Saturday was great and Sunday would be even better. Sunday, I started off a little slower than I was running Saturday, but I picked it back up in no time. There were a lot more people in the advanced session on Sunday and I got a lot of great passing experience, but unfortunately not many clear laps. Overall, I had a great time on my first trip to Barber Motorsports Park. The facility was amazing and so was the track. I would like to thank Sportbike Track time for putting on this amazing event.
